Southern Lens - Electric Orchard

by Kim Bowden - Apr 23, 2021

Many agricultural operators claim to be environmentally friendly but few, if any, could match Lake Dunstan orchardist Mike Casey who burns zero fossil fuels in running his commercial cherry orchard.

With a tech background, Mike has gone 100% electric on his property near Cromwell using advanced engineering, computer code and science that could translate across multiple aspects of mainstream farming in the future.

Produced for Crux by Kim Bowden, shot and edited by James Haskard in partnership with Two Bearded Men using funding from NZ On Air.
