Auckland to move to alert level 2 - Jacinda Ardern

Mar 05, 2021

Auckland will move to alert level 2 and the rest of New Zealand will move to level 1 at 6am on Sunday morning, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has announced.

Ardern is now speaking to media after a Cabinet meeting to decide on alert level changes.

Ardern and the Cabinet met this afternoon to decide whether to change alert levels.

No new cases of Covid-19 have been reported in the community or in managed isolation today.

The Ministry of Health said there was still a strong demand for testing with more than 11,500 tests processed yesterday.

Results from wastewater testing at three Auckland sites - including Papatoetoe - on Wednesday have all come back negative.
