Why is Richard Thomas so upset?

In an extraordinary post on LinkedIn, from which Crux has been blocked, tourism boss and part heir to the $1 billion Skyline Enterprises fortune Richard Thomas claims “Crux is not a legitimate news source.”

He uses this as his reason not to answer questions about his motivation for trying to change the QLDC’s Regional Deals Negotiation Committee at a 40th birthday party for the organisation he chairs - Destination Queenstown.

Is that the reason for the attacks - or another story that Crux has covered?

It’s all a bit tongue in cheek, a bit of fun for the weekend - but still we’d like to know your views. What has Crux written about that has so upset Mr Thomas - and some of his friends on the council and running local businesses, many of which are marketed by Destination Queenstown?
