Updated: Serious accident on SH6 at Kelvin Heights junction

A 2-car crash was reported to emergency services about 6:45pm on State Highway 6 (Kingston Road) at the intersection with Peninsula Road.

Initial indications suggest at least one person is seriously injured, although police have not got complete information on that yet.

The road was initially completely blocked but has reopened at 7.45 pm under stop/go traffic management with a 30kmh speed limit in place.
