QLDC deleted 50% of trust survey responses as "too negative."
A detailed report from the Queenstown Lakes District Council’s trust survey company shows that 335 responses were excluded from the survey as being “too negative” due to the fact that they weren’t invited to take part via the electoral roll or the council’s ratepayer database.
Another 40 respondents were rejected from the “invited” group for an unspecified reason - meaning that close to 50% of all respondents were excluded from the official survey findings.
Out of 780 responses only 405 (just under 50%) were included in the council’s main published results.
The results of these “uninvited” survey participants show only a 4% trust rating dropping to 3% for long term solutions and quality of services for residents and visitors. A national Deloitte trust benchmark gives the QLDC a rating of minus 32.9 for these results on a scale from plus 100 to minus 100 - but that is just using the non-excluded survey results.
