QLDC councillors to vote on dropping former mayor Lewer's "secret" CEO recruitment plan
This week’s full QLDC council meeting looks set to drop the controversial plans put in place by former Mayor Glyn Lewers to recruit a replacement for council Chief Executive Mike Theelen.
Mr Lewers worked with former councillors Lisa Guy and Lyal Cocks, before this year’s local elections, to put the plans in place before informing other councillors that Mr Theelen had resigned.
Documents to be tabled on Thursday suggest all of these plans, including the hiring of an executive recruitment firm, are to be cancelled and started from scratch - with the involvement of all newly elected councillors.
