Police still seeking ute in Cromwell hit-and-run

Police are asking for help to find a vehicle connected to a hit-and-run in Cromwell in January that put a cyclist in hospital.

The vehicle police are seeking to locate is described as a metallic blue, square-shaped ute with alloy bull bars.

A vehicle pictured in a previous appeal has been identified and eliminated as a suspect in relation to this incident.

The vehicle is believed to have black off-road tyres and an alloy or galvanised roll bar on the back.

There was also an aerial base at the back on the driver’s side, with no aerial attached, and an alloy box on the back of the vehicle.

Cromwell 63-year-old Colin Reece was cycling back from his morning paper run on Sunday, January 23 when he was hit by the ute on Shortcut Road at approximately 7.40am.

He was seriously injured in the collision.

Police want anyone with information that could lead to the location of the vehicle to phone 105 and quote case number 220123/5266.
