Person seriously injured in Mt Aspiring paragliding crash

A paraglider has been airlifted to hospital in a serious condition after an incident in the Mt Aspiring National Park.

Police say they were alerted to the incident just before 2pm (Tuesday).

"It appears one person was extracted and airlifted to Dunedin Hospital," a spokesperson says.

A St John spokesperson says the injured paraglider was taken by helicopter to the hospital in a serious condition.
