Mayoral candidate phone poll mystery solved

Crux readers have been puzzled by a phone survey that has been asking questions about QLDC mayoral candidates without revealing who the survey organiser is.

David Farrar, who owns and manages Curia Market Research, told Crux this afternoon that his company is running the poll for the NZ Taxpayers Union (NZTU).

The poll results will be revealed later next week as part of an event being fronted by former TV news reader Peter Williams. Mr Williams joined the board of the NZTU in April 2022 as part of a portfolio of conservative commentary roles.

Crux will have full details of the poll as soon as the event has taken place.
