When working hard becomes a crime

One of the most widely read Crux stories of 2019 detailed the battle that 14 year old Johnny O'Neill is having to keep his thriving lawn mowing business afloat after an anonymous complaint to NZTA, and local police, stopped him using his ride-on mower on the footpaths and streets of Cromwell.

Crux Cromwell reporter Kim Bowden produced this report with Southern Lens videographer/editor James Haskard.

Produced in partnership with Two Bearded Men using funding from NZ On Air.
