Free Local's Laps are on this week at Coronet Peak

From Monday 16th to Sunday 22nd December Coronet Peak will be offering locals a free gondola ride or mountain biking lap.

The Local’s Laps give anyone residing in the Queenstown Lakes District the opportunity to take a ride in the new eight-seater gondola cabins or take a lap on the mountain bike trails via chairlift for free. Torpedo7 is set up on mountain and will be offering half-price bike rentals for the week too.

Ski Area Manager Nigel Kerr says he hopes to see plenty of locals experiencing the new Peak Gondola over the week.

“We’re excited to show off what we have up here and welcome everyone from Queenstown Lakes District to enjoy a local’s lap.”

To receive the offer locals need to provide evidence they have lived in the Queenstown Lakes District for at least three months. Proof can be in the form of a utility bill, tenancy agreement, letter from employer, address on their MyPass account or similar.

Queenstown Lakes District includes: Queenstown, Arrowtown, Gibbston Valley, Glenorchy, Kingston, Wanaka, Hawea and Makarora with the addition of Tarras and Cromwell.
