Woolworths applies for Ladies Mile supermarket consent

Woolworths New Zealand has announced that it has applied for resource consent to build a new, state-of-the-art supermarket in the Ladies Mile area of Queenstown.

Following the recent approval of the Te Pūtahi Ladies Mile Plan Variation which enables up to 2,400 new dwellings, the proposed store will provide shopping facilities for the planned expansion of Ladies Mile, as well as for the existing residents of nearby Lake Hayes Estate, Shotover Country and surrounding areas.

The site is valued at just under $8 million on the QLDC property database.

Located within the new Commercial Precinct, the proposed full-service store will include dedicated online pick-up facilities, along with retail and commercial spaces.

Woolworths New Zealand Director of Property, Matthew Grainger says that reaching this milestone is a positive step, and Woolworths looks forward to collaborating with the QLDC as their resource consent application progresses.
