Vehicle driven off road near Wilson Bay

Emergency services were called to a crash early this morning as a vehicle had been driven off the Glenorchy-Queenstown Road, near Wilson Bay. 

Hato Hone St John says it was notified of the crash at 7.23am this morning and sent one ambulance to the scene. 

There, one patient was assessed by crew before being transported to Lakes District Hospital in a moderate condition.

A spokesperson for Fire and Emergency says no one trapped inside the vehicle after the crash.

However Queenstown Police and volunteers from the Queenstown fire brigade were on the scene, and they assisted with retrieving the vehicle.
