Upsets on the way - final Crux election poll results

Here’s the final results of our last Crux Local Election poll for the QLDC area.

We had 687 responses with a margin of error of 4%. All of our results show first place preferences as well as a weighted average/ranked score.

In the case of Mayor, only first place counts with John Glover currently sitting at 62.26% of the vote with the rest divided by Rewi (15%), Kiddle (12%) and Lewers (10%).

For the Queenstown-Wakatipu Ward four councillors will be elected - the same for the Wānaka-Upper Clutha Ward.

Three will be elected in the Arrowtown-Kawarau Ward.

Four members are elected onto the Wānaka-Upper Clutha Community Board - to be joined by three elected councillors from that same ward.

Of course our poll is just of Crux readers but our view is that the results reflect a reasonably broad spectrum of the voting community. If we are wrong on the day there must be a lot of very secretive voters out there - is so, who are they and how do they talk to each other? One of our district’s big mysteries - and not a healthy one!

Ones to watch on October 11:

Queenstown-Wakatipu.

Will it be Matt Wong or Aaron Cowie that gets in?

Arrowtown-Kawarau.

Will Lisa Guy get a second term or will it be Heath Copland who comes back?

Wanaka- Upper Clutha.

Will Barry Bruce be back or will he be replaced by new blood such as Nicola King and Craig Gasson?

Is you have not voted yet - VOTE!!
