Community LINK recruit swaps Mexico City for Upper Clutha
Community LINK, Upper Clutha's one-stop community support and connection centre, has announced a new team member - all the way from Mexico.
Ana Amador, originally from Mexico City, has joined the team as an Occupational Therapist.
After completing her three-year training at the Otago Polytechnic in Dunedin, she enjoyed three years working at ADL (Adventure Development Counselling) before successfully applying for a role with Community LINK.
The organisation operates a food-bank, provides social worker support and provides a link with government and community support services.
“I already knew the team and the culture at Community Link through my work at ADL, and I knew it was a place I’d love to work, or even volunteer,” Ana says.
“I want to help the community when people need a helping hand. For many, these services can be complicated, especially for those who aren’t used to them.”
Kate Murray, Manager of Community Link is delighted to welcome Ana to the team.
“Her passion for helping people and her unique blend of professional experience and cultural insight will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen our community services. “Ana’s dedication to supporting individuals through life’s challenges perfectly aligns with our mission to help the Upper Clutha region thrive. We’re excited to see the positive impact she will have in her new role.”
