Crown Range reopens after fatal crash

The Crown Range is open this morning after a fatal car crash closed the alpine road yesterday.

One person died following the two-car crash, which was reported to police at approximately 3.20pm yesterday.

The person died at the scene, while another was taken to hospital with moderate injuries.

The road was closed for much of yesterday evening, with motorists traveling between Queenstown and Wānaka detoured via Cromwell.

The circumstances of the crash remain under investigation.
