Queenstown's Ben Campbell joins LIV Golf League

Queenstown professional golfer Ben Campbell steps up to the big league this year, after he was selected to join one of the teams in the lucrative LIV Golf League.

Campbell is a member at the Millbrook Resort golf club near Queenstown.

“The news of Ben Campbell being selected for LIV golf for the season ahead has been incredibly well received by Millbrook and all its members,” Millbrook Resort Director of Gold Micah Dickinson said.

“Everyone here at Millbrook is so extremely invested in Ben and his career, and it is great to see him get the recognition he deserves, it makes us all very proud to call him a member of our cub.

"Ben always takes the time out when he is back here in Queenstown to engage with staff and members, it is just in his nature. We are all very excited to see what 2025 brings for Ben and I know I speak on behalf of everyone that we wish him nothing but the best. With the NZOPEN taking place at the end of February, it really would be icing on the cake for Ben to have him raise that trophy come Sunday afternoon.”

The LIV Golf League was founded by golfing great Greg Norman in 2023. This year, it starts in April with 14 events providing individual and team prizes in the millions of dollars at each event.

Golf New Zealand says it is thrilled to congratulate 33-year-old Campbell, a Millbrook Resort Golf Club member, on his “remarkable achievement” of joining RangeGoats GC for the 2025 LIV Golf League season. 

“This exciting milestone sees the Queenstown resident stepping into a prominent international spotlight as part of a powerhouse lineup led by captain Bubba Watson, alongside Peter Uihlein and Matthew Wolff,” a Golf NZ statement said.

“Ben earned his place on the RangeGoats roster following an impressive 2024 season on the Asian Tour. He ranked as the top non-LIV player in the International Series season-long points standings, finishing third overall behind Joaquin Niemann and Peter Uihlein.

“Having already made three appearances as a reserve player during the 2024 LIV Golf season—including a start for Majesticks GC at LIV Golf Greenbrier—Ben has proven he’s ready to compete at the highest level. Now, with two International Series wins in the last two years, he steps into this next chapter as a key player on the global stage.

“Golf New Zealand is incredibly proud of Ben’s journey and the tenacity he has shown, join us in celebrating Ben’s achievement as we look forward to following his progress in the 2025 LIV Golf League season.”
