QLDC voting at extremely low level - so far

The latest data shows that voters in the Queenstown Lakes District are only at a 22% participation level (October 8) compared to up to 42% in previous years.

The deadline for postal votes has now passed so votes will need to be made at QLDC offices or dropped into orange voting bins (details below).

Compared to today’s 22% participation level - here’s the data for previous QLDC elections on the same day:

2022: 31%

2019: 36%

2016: 42%

The final numbers when voting closed for the same overall QLDC district were:

2022: 43%

2019: 47%%

2016: 54 %

Central Otago District Council.

2025 All wards today: October 8: 40%

Cromwell ward: October 8: 37%

2022: Final - All CODC 47%

2019: Final - All CODC 52%

2016: Final - All CODC 62%

Here’s the QLDC numbers as of today October 8th for each ward:

Queenstown-Whakatipu: 18.7%

Arrowtown-Kawarau: 22.29%

Wānaka-Upper Clutha: 26.61%
