Police seek help after Cromwell assault puts person in hospital

Police in Cromwell are asking to hear from potential witnesses to two separate assaults in the town in the last week.

The first took place on the corner of suburban Inniscort and Monaghan Streets late Thursday night (February 29), and ended with one person in hospital.

In a statement today, Sergeant Regan Price says police want to heart from anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who may have CCTV or dash camera footage of it.

It was one of two fights within days of each other and just a street block apart.

Early Sunday morning, at the intersection of Melmore Terrace and Achil Street, close to Lake Dunstan and the Victoria Arms Hotel, another assault resulted in a person receiving medical care from ambulance staff at the scene.

Sergeant Price says police would also like to hear from members of the public who have any information on this incident.
