Police investigate cell phone/power pole fires in Albert Town

Investigations are underway into what appears to be an attack on cell phone towers and power poles in Albert Town near Wānaka.

The following statement has been released to Crux:

"Police were notified at around 11:30pm last night of a cell tower and two power poles on fire at an address on Alison Avenue.

"No injuries were reported.

"Police along with Fire and Emergency New Zealand are making enquiries to determine the circumstances of the fire."

It's not known at this stage if the incident, or incidents are linked to a recent attack on a cell phone tower in the Lindis Pass between Tarras and Omarama.
