One motorcyclist dead, two with moderate/serious injuries in Milford crash

Police have confirmed that one person has died in a crash on the Milford Road (State Highway 94), just south of the Homer Tunnel.

The crash occurred about 10.50am and involved three motorbikes.

One of the riders died at the scene, while two others suffered moderate-to-serious injuries. They were flown by helicopter to the Lakes District Hospital. 

The road remains closed ahead of a Serious Crash Unit investigation.

Police say that a number of tourists are in Milford Sound, or wanting to travel there, and have requested pubic support while the crash scene investigation takes place.
