Happy holidays and thanks to our Crux readers

It’s been a wonderfully busy year here at Crux, but now we’re ready for a break. We suspect you are as well!

This is just a quick note to say a huge thank you to our growing family of readers. There’s over 80,000 of you, virtually the whole population of Queenstown, Wānaka and Cromwell with our extra readers not only all over NZ but around the world as well.

We know that our work is appreciated. Our site now reaches up to 20,000 readers a day and we’ve become a key supplier of local news to Google via their News Showcase and regular search systems.

We’re also proud of the fact that we’ve tempered the Crux formula to include more positive community news, celebrating local success, as well as holding those that govern us to account.

So, thanks for being part of us. Your (largely!) intelligent and thoughtful comments on Facebook are great and for those who just go direct to the Crux website we’ve made quite a few changes to make the experience easier and more intuitive.

You will all have read how challenging the news media landscape is at the moment. But we are making good progress with both advertising revenue and direct reader support.

We are enjoying an exponential increase in advertising revenue and now deliver over 700,000 ad impressions a month on behalf of the local businesses who we partner with.  Every ad can be measured, tracked and reported so that each advertiser knows exactly how their precious dollars are performing.
