Further details, and questions, on Veolia/QLDC sewage boss resignation
More information is emerging around the sudden resignation last Friday of former QLDC manager Marcus Warren - who for the past 18 months has been the Regional Manager of Veolia - the company running all of QLDC’s three waters services.
No replies have been received to questions sent to Veolia as well as QLDC’s mayor and deputy mayor on Saturday November 22.
Two people, who have told Crux they are personal connections of Mr Warren, say he’s been in the United States for the past three weeks on a trip linked to the ill health of a close family member. Both people confirm Mr Warren’s sudden resignation.
It’s unusual with such a large corporation (Paris based with 218,000 employees around the world - with 5% revenue growth globally in 2024 to €44,692 million or $NZ 91,657 million) to not extend compassionate leave to someone in Mr Warren’s key position and to ensure that the management gap is filled transparently and urgently.
