'Forever missed': Tributes flow for man killed in Queenstown accident
Online tributes are pouring in for an Irish man who died after an accident in Queenstown last week.
A death notice for Galway man Dillon McDermott was shared on the site RIP.ie this week saying he had died following the Queenstown accident.
The death notice said McDermott was originally from Kylebroghlan in Moycullen, Galway, and tributes have been pouring in since the death notice was shared.
"He was always the light in the room, a true mate and such an amazing person. He will be forever missed and will always be in our hearts," one person wrote.
Another said Dillon "gave us the warmest welcome" when they were together.
"Shocked and heartbroken. I will cherish the memories I shared with Dillon growing up in Moycullen and over the years. He was such a positive, uplifting and fun person to be around. He will be so missed," another person wrote.
Another said Dillon was always a "positive, uplifting and considerate person" who brought friendship and warmth.
The death notice said Dillon would be repatriated to Ireland before funeral arrangements would be shared.
“Dillon is deeply missed by his loving family, including his parents Tom and Patricia, his beloved fiancée Elle Burton, his brothers Sean Rossa and Lairgnen, along with Lairgnen’s fiancée Ciara Elwood and his adored niece Laura,” the notice reads.
“He is also sadly missed by the Burton family, including Debbie, Phillip, Owen, and Jessica, by Dillon’s extended family aunts, uncles, cousins, and a community that has given Dillon a wonderful childhood as well as his faithful friends from all corners of the globe.”
Emergency services were called to a Kent St address about 7.30am on October 22 after reports of a sudden death. Police believe the death is not suspicious and will refer it to the Coroner.
