Fire crews fight major Frankton house fire

A major fire is being fought by four fire crews on the main State Highway 6 at Frankton.

The house involved is understood to be on the same land as the Bayleys Waipuna Rise development.

Police have told Crux that one lane of SH6 is still open and that diversions are in place through the Queenstown Central shopping precinct.

A FENZ spokeswoman said that the fire was well developed and was in the roof space of the house. Crews from as far away as Alexandra have been called in.

QLDC property records show the house sits on a large parcel of land at 111 Frankton-Ladies Mile Highway.

Crux has approached Bayleys for comment.
