Car and bus collision at Kingston - SH6 closed

State Highway 6 is closed at Kingston - and is likely to be closed for some time following the collision between a bus and a car.

The location is at the intersection of SH6 and Glen Nevis Station Road.

Closure points are in place at Kingston township and at Wye Creek. Emergency services are currently en route. No immediate detour is available. Avoid the area and consider using an alternative route.

Police serious crash investigations will be required following this incident.

It is highly likely the road will remain CLOSED for several hours, possibly late into this evening.

An alternative route south is available via SH6, SH8B, SH8, SH90, SH94 and back onto SH6. Reverse for northbound travel.

Allow an additional 2 1/2 hrs for this diversion.
