Native tree planting day at Whitechapel Reserve

Apr 06, 2023

Wakatipu Reforestation Trust (WRT) is calling for volunteers to join them planting 1500 native trees and shrubs next Saturday morning, 15 April.

The trees and shrubs will be planted along the Queenstown Trail on Whitechapel Road (see map).

Members of the public are invited to join the WRT volunteers as they continue their work to restore the biodiversity of Whitechapel Reserve.

Morning tea and hot drinks are kindly provided by Hilton Queenstown Resort & Spa, followed by a community sausage sizzle.

Location: Whitechapel Road, Arrow Junction.

Time: Drop in style, come along from 9am onwards, and stay for as long as you like.

What to bring: Gardening gloves, a garden shovel (or borrow one of theirs), sturdy boots, hat, sunscreen, water - along with friends, family and a desire to leave your lasting legacy on the beautiful landscape.

Absolutely no experience is needed. Volunteers will be on hand to show you how to plant a tree!
