Europe's biggest winter festival is coming to Cardrona
This September, Europe’s biggest winter music festival, Snowboxx, is set to make its Southern Hemisphere debut in collaboration with Rhythm & Alps.
Taking place at Cardrona, New Zealand’s ultimate mountain playground, Snowboxx will host an action-packed program of parties and performances slope-side, as part of a world-class production and the destination’s 40th birthday celebrations.
With a series of outdoor stages and a total resort takeover, Snowboxx NZ will be recreating the successful Snowboxx European extravaganza which takes place annually in Avoriaz, France. Now in the eighth year, the sell-out event is famous for its alpine antics with the likes of Fatboy Slim, Craig David, Rudimental, Basement Jaxx, Stormzy, Bicep and more. The New Zealand edition promises an avalanche of the hottest international electronic music artists who will perform alongside talent from across Australia and New Zealand.
Cardrona’s three vast basins provide some of New Zealand’s best snow conditions and the recent acquisition of Treble Cone gives skiers 900 hectares of prime pistes to peruse. With beginner slopes, incredible parks and challenging steeps, the resort is perfect for first-time shredders through to seasoned pros.
Rob Tominey, Snowboxx Promoter comments, “We’re really excited to launch the NZ edition of Snowboxx, it’s designed to be a truly unforgettable experience at an affordable price. Beyond the mountains and music, revellers can look forward to a smorgasbord of fun-fuelled activities including a snowball arena, inflatable races, bottomless brunches and slope-side raves.”
Just a short drive from Queenstown or Wanaka, genuine Kiwi hospitality awaits. Packages including seven nights of accommodation in Wanaka and a festival wristband start at NZ$440 per person. Dates and full line-up to be announced. To register and find out more visit snowboxx.nz.
