Rough night for many in Qtown with no power

Hundreds of Queenstown households have been without power overnight following yesterday's big dump of snow.

The Aurora Energy website suggests all power should be back on by midday today. Glenorchy, Sunshine Bay and Fernhill are still affected. 

No new snow has fallen but conditions are treacherous with temperatures close to freezing.

Traffic cams show snow still lying on the ground from yesterday.

The Glenorchy Road is still closed but there will be a further update at 9.00 am Tuesday.
