Q'town Power Outage: Aurora says "planned maintenance"

A massive power outage across the Queenstown District has been listed by the Aurora Energy website as "Planned Maintenance" with power being due back on at 11.15 am.

Other parts of the Aurora site list a second outage due to the lightening strike that hit Queenstown earlier this morning, around 7.00 am. The lightening repair fault is also listed as being due to be fixed at 11.15 am.

The latest updates from Aurora are:

*** Update at 9am *** Line being patrolled to restore other areas in Queenstown and Remarkables area restored
*** Update at 8.45am ***
Power has been restored to Glenorchy area
*** Update at 8.45am ***
Power has been restored to Queenstown CBD

 

The scheduled, network maintenance fault is listed as only affecting 100 people but includes an exhaustive list of areas and businesses affected:

Hospital
Jacks Point
Kelvin Heights
Kingston Road To Wye Creek,
Ladies Mile
Lake Hayes Estate
Lower Shotover

Queenstown Airport
Remarkables Crescent
Remarkables Park
Riverside Road
Tucker Beach Road

The lightening strike fault is also listed as affecting "100" people and includes a much smaller list of affected areas:
