Major traffic congestion heading into Queenstown

There's been three hours of major delays for traffic heading into Queenstown this evening.

The congestion follows a collision involving multiple vehicles on Frankton Road, which was reported to police at around 4.40pm.

One of the vehicles appears to be blocking a westbound lane while awaiting for the towing service.

Police traffic management are attempting to resolve the issue.

No injuries have been reported to police at this stage.

Police are advising commuters to avoid the area, seek alternative routes and allow additional time to reach their destinations safely this evening.

The road around Queenstown Airport as well as Glenda Drive were both seriously impacted for more than two hours with traffic at a standstill in both directions.
