The Warehouse is coming to Wānaka
The Warehouse has revealed to Crux it is opening a store in Wānaka this spring.
Rumours have already been circling around the town, and today the New Zealand retailer has confirmed they are true.
It will be located within the Three Parks development on a 5,100 square metre site.
The Warehouse boss Daniel Prew says there will be a Warehouse Stationery within the store, complete with a print and copy centre.
There isn’t yet an opening date that Mr Prew could provide, however an online advertisement by The Warehouse looking for staff estimates late September.
All up, the company is advertising online for 49 staff members to work in the Wānaka store.
Mr Prew says the company is keen to use this store to support the local community, plus there will be opening events announced closer to the time.
“Once we’re open, we’ll also be offering our sausage sizzles at The Warehouse as a way for local community groups to fundraise."
Mr Prew also says Wānaka shoppers can expect Noel Leeming – also part of The Warehouse group – to open in Three Parks.
However, rumours circulating that a McDonald's is also on the way are unfounded.
A spokesperson for the fast-food giant says the company has no plans for Wānaka "at this stage".
