Helicopter transfer for critical patient on Coronet ski field

A person was airlifted from Coronet Ski Area after a medical event left them in a critical condition.

A spokesperson for St John says emergency services received a call for help at 2.16pm, and an ambulance crew and helicopter were sent up the mountain.

The patient was taken by helicopter to Dunedin Hospital.

A spokesperson for NZSki says the patient was visiting the ski area, where they experienced a medical event.
