The rain is likely to fall as snow above 600 metres.

Heavy Rain Warning - Orange
Period:
12hrs from 8pm Sun, 30 Jun - 8am Mon, 1 Jul
Area:
The headwaters of the Otago lakes and rivers
Forecast:
Expect 110 to 140 mm of rain about the main divide, and 70 to 100 mm of rain within 20km east of the main divide.
Note, further rain likely during Monday morning and afternoon, but this is likely to fall as snow on the ranges.
Minimal chance of upgrading to a Red Warning.
Impact:
Streams and rivers may rise rapidly. Surface flooding, slips, and difficult driving conditions possible.
Action:
Clear your drains and gutters to prepare for heavy rain. Avoid low-lying areas and drive cautiously.
Road Snowfall Warning

Area:
Crown Range Road
Forecast:
Expect 3 to 4 cm of snow to accumulate on the road above about 800 metres, with lesser amounts down to about 600 metres.
