Frankton Road: 300 properties run dry after water main bursts

by Kim Bowden - Dec 08, 2023

Approximately 300 properties along Queenstown's Frankton Road woke up to no running water this morning after a water main burst.

In an alert on social media, the Queenstown Lakes District Council says it has contractors working on the leak, which is affecting households and businesses between Larch Hill and Marina Drive.

While the emergency fix is underway, water has been shut off.

The council says it will provide an update on Facebook when the water is back on.

For now, exactly what caused the water main to burst is unknown.

Likewise, there is no indication of how long away a fix may be.

The QLDC has been approached for comment.
