25 Covid-19 cases in Lakes/Central Otago districts - Updated.

After a period of waiting, and some media pressure, we finally have details of the regional distribution of Covid 19 cases. The Queenstown Lakes District has 22 cases, Central Otago 3 cases and Dunedin 22, bringing the combined Southern Lakes/Central total to a higher number than Dunedin.

The Southern DHB told Crux a short time ago that most Southern cases are linked to overseas travel, The Queenstown Hereford Conference and the Wanaka A and P show.

Queenstown now has a Covid-19 Community Based Assessment Centre at Lakes Hayes but you must phone ahead and not just turn up. The location is the Lake Hayes Pavilion. Contact details are:

The latest Covid-19 data means that the SDHB region has by far the highest national rate per capita of Covid-19 cases.
