From the Queenstown Chamber of Commerce.

"Ruth Stokes has been appointed the new CEO of the Queenstown Chamber of Commerce. Ruth has extensive experience as a senior executive, having held successive Senior and Chief Executive roles across the finance, infrastructure, and government sectors for over 20 years.  Having lived in Queenstown for almost 9 years, Ruth’s more recent experience includes roles with Queenstown Lakes District Council, Dunedin City Council and most recently as a consultant to a number of organisations and projects.

Queenstown Chamber of Commerce Chair Craig Douglas says Ruth will be an outstanding leader of the Chamber and a great advocate for the Queenstown business community.

"We are thrilled to have attracted someone from our community with such talent. Ruth has a broad range of experience in many of the issues our business community faces and can take the Chamber to the next level," Craig Douglas says.

Ruth says she is looking forward to working in the local community again.

"I am delighted to take on the role of Queenstown Chamber Chief Executive and consider it a privilege to be working for our local business community, particularly during these challenging times.

I am looking forward to working with the Board and our members, continuing the valued activities of the Chamber, and identifying and realising further opportunities to support business success in Queenstown."

Ruth will take up the position of Chief Executive from February 1st, 2021."
