Preschool gala to raise funds for North Island kids

Mar 24, 2023

This Saturday, Wānaka Preschool is hosting its annual Sustainable Gala. Half the funds raised will be donated to KidsCan, specifically for children in the hardest hit parts of the North Island.

Centre manager, Lo Stevenson, said it was an easy decision when one of the parent Gala organisers made the suggestion to help out children who are suffering in the wake of Cyclone Gabrielle. There will be the opportunity to donate directly to KidsCan at the event.

In 2021 the Preschool achieved the Green/Gold Enviroschool recognition. To celebrate they held a sustainable Gala, focusing on recycle, repurpose, natural goods like plants, hand made articles, preserves and children activities.

Stevenson says that they have great support. Pure NZ has donated ice creams and there will be burgers and sausages on the grill.

The raffle features Cardrona and Treble Cone passes, Puzzling World passes, art work and lots of great merchandise and vouchers. It will be a fun filled day for everyone.

Come along on this Saturday, 25 March from 10 am till 2 pm to support two great charities: KidsCan and Wanaka Preschool.
