Grass fire burns in Shotover Country/Lake Hayes Estate

A grass fire is burning near the Queenstown suburb of Shotover Country with multiple fire units in attendance.

Some residents have posted on social media as they drive away from the fire area.

One resident took video of the fire as they left the immediate area.

Police have told Crux that they are not involved at this stage.

One resident noted that there were LPG tanks in the same area as the fire. 

Units from Arrowtown, Frankton, Queenstown are involved in fighting the blaze.

A Crux reader reported at 3.55 pm that the fire was now under control and the fire services had done an amazing job in getting everything under control.
