'Library of things' coming to Queenstown Lakes
There's soon to be some new offerings at libraries across the Queenstown Lakes District, and we're not talking books.
The district's head librarian has announced a new project called the 'Library of Things', that will allow users to check out unique items, like telescopes.
Sue Gwilliam says it just one of many services on offer across the district's libraries, and people only need to get themselves a library card to take advantage of them.
Anyone who signs up to join the library in March will receive a library themed lanyard and be in with a chance to win a $100 grocery voucher.
It is free to join the library and membership allows access to any branch across the district.
"Whether you're a book lover, tech enthusiast, or simply looking for a welcoming community, your local library is here for you,” Ms Gwilliam says.
“In a world where every cent counts your library card opens doors to a wealth of resources, entertainment, and information."
