Kids' bike park gets a major makeover
A popular bike track for kids in Wānaka is getting a revamp that's been years in the making.
Bike Wānaka, working in conjunction with the Albert Town Community Association, made the announcement this week, saying the area for biking at Gunn Road will be rebuilt after "years of behind the scenes work".
Local Wānaka company Dirt Dynamics will be crafting the trails, with work at the site having started on Tuesday.
The area will be closed for the next two weeks.
Bike Wānaka says it's "really excited to be giving this important community asset the love it deserves, to make it safe and enjoyable for our tamariki".
The project's received funding from the Central Lakes Trust and the Wānaka Masonic Lodge.
